Exchange Program/Workshops
The Regional Young Dancer Exchange, an initiative by Batalo East, unites promising East African dancers from countries like Congo, Kenya, and Rwanda. This program involves sending ambassador dancers from Uganda to these countries and vice versa, fostering an exchange of skills and ideas and providing opportunities for dancers to compete and network in an international environment.
Batalo East is committed to offering accessible, affordable, and quality workshops in Kampala throughout the year. These workshops cover a variety of dance styles, ensuring a comprehensive dance education for participants.
The initiative has successfully built connections between dancers and institutions across the region, facilitating the exchange of best practices in arts management, arts development, and audience engagement. This effort not only enhances the skills of individual dancers but also strengthens the overall dance community in East Africa.
